Why it's fun

A new dungeon every time

The dungeon layout is built fresh on every run — a digital game board that stays new no matter how many times you dive.

Up to 4 players by passphrase

Team up with family or friends using a short passphrase. No account needed, and you're never matched with strangers automatically.

A toy-diorama 3D world

A cute toy-like 3D world. Back at camp you can relax with the dye shop for outfits, chopping wood, and playing by the water.

Built to be safe for kids

No chat, no payments, no ads, and no blood. Even if your party is wiped out, everything you collected comes home with you.

How to play, in 3 steps

  1. Open and pick a class

Just press "Play now." The first time, you'll choose Warrior, Archer, or Sorcerer.

  2. Set off from camp

The campfire is your home base. Head through the gate into the dungeon and gather treasure and gear.

  3. Bring friends with a passphrase

Make a passphrase at the "play together" spot and share it, then dive in together with up to 4 players.

FAQ

Is it safe for children?

There is no chat — players can only send 8 fixed stamps like "Nice!", with no way to type free text to others. Only people who know the passphrase can join, so there's no automatic matchmaking with strangers. No name or email is required, there are no payments and no ads, and there is no blood or scary content. If your party is defeated, you simply "return to camp" and keep everything you gathered.

What devices can I play on?

Any browser on a phone, tablet, or PC. On PC you use the keyboard (WASD or arrow keys); on phones and tablets you use an on-screen stick. No app install is needed.

Does it cost anything?

It's completely free. There's no sign-up, no app to install, and no real-money purchases.

Where is my data saved?

Progress such as level, gear, collection log, and titles is stored only in your device's browser and is not sent to any server.

Can I keep my progress on a new device?

Yes. From the "record board" in camp you can export your data to a file and load it on a new device. The file only moves when you move it — nothing is uploaded anywhere.

Is the game in English?

Yes! The game detects your browser language automatically, and you can switch between English and Japanese anytime from the in-game menu (🌐 Language). One exception: the co-op "secret word" is typed with Japanese characters (a simple on-screen keyboard is provided).

📖 More details / For parents

What is Chillda's Dungeon?

Chillda's Dungeon is a free action-RPG you play right in your browser. You explore a dark, automatically generated dungeon by the light of your torch, defeating slimes and bats and collecting gear. Because the dungeon layout changes on every run, it feels fresh no matter how often you play. You move with WASD or the arrow keys on a PC, or with the on-screen stick on phones and tablets, and attacks land automatically on nearby enemies — so it rarely feels "too hard to win." A basic dungeon takes about 10–20 minutes, and once you beat the boss you can also try the endless "Deep Dungeon" and the shared "Daily Dungeon." No sign-up, free, and playable on any browser.

Three classes

Pressing "Play now" takes you straight into camp with no title screen (you only pick a class the very first time), and you can change class later on.

  • Warrior: high HP and reduced damage — a sturdy front-liner. Skill: a spinning slash that hits twice around you.
  • Archer: fast, with long reach. Skill: a piercing shot that hits three times in a line.
  • Sorcerer: high attack, great at hitting groups. Skill: drops five stars on a spot you choose.

Gear is kept separately for each class, so switching class never removes what another class is wearing. Your bag of potions is shared across all three classes.

Explore the dark dungeon

The dungeon is dark, and only the area within torchlight is clearly visible. You can't see past walls until you go there, so there's a thrill in every doorway. Places you've walked stay faintly visible, and a minimap in the corner helps you find your way (it marks remaining enemies with red dots when a floor is nearly clear). Special rooms appear now and then — a treasure vault of gold chests, a room full of pots, or a monster nest that drops a bonus chest when cleared. Each dungeon ends in a small arena where a boss waits. After a charge or shockwave the boss is briefly stunned, and attacking during that opening deals double damage — so you naturally learn a "dodge, then strike" rhythm.

Home base is a bright camp

Before and after each dive, you can rest at a camp with a warm campfire. Camp has three shops — a gear shop, a potion shop, and a dye shop for changing your character's look — each marked by a hanging sign. At the equip stand you choose what to wear from your bag, and a nearby scarecrow lets you test your attacks before setting out. The "record board" holds your collection log of enemies and gear, titles you earn by meeting conditions, and the save / load feature for moving your progress to another device. All shopping uses in-game coins earned in the dungeon — there are no real-money purchases.

Loot and growth

Defeating enemies or breaking chests and pots drops weapons, armor, charms, rings, coins, and potions. Walking over them picks them up automatically, equipping anything stronger than what you have right away (so even young children can play without fiddling with menus). If you leave loot behind when changing floors, it isn't lost — it's delivered to the campfire as "lost and found" next time you return. Gaining experience raises your level, HP, and attack. Your level, gear, coins, collection log, and titles are saved on this device and carry over even when you change class.

The endless "Deep Dungeon" and the "Daily Dungeon"

Beating the first boss opens the endless Deep Dungeon at the camp entrance: from floor B5 onward it continues without limit, growing tougher and more rewarding the deeper you go, with a rest camp every five floors that you can choose as a restart point next time. The Daily Dungeon is the same dungeon for everyone in the world on a given date — a one-run-a-day challenge where you can compare times with family and friends.

Online co-op

At the "play together" spot in camp, choose "make a room" to get a short passphrase (for example "apple42" in the Japanese version). Share it with the family or friends you want to play with. When they enter the same passphrase, they join your camp — up to four players in total. You can also copy an invite link and send it via a messaging app; opening the link joins without typing the passphrase. Once everyone is ready, the host sets off into the dungeon and you all dive together.

For parents: online co-op is designed with safety in mind. There is no chat — only 8 fixed stamps — and there is no way to send free text. Only people who know the passphrase (or invite link) can join, so there's no automatic matchmaking with strangers. No account is needed and no personal information is entered, and each passphrase or invite link expires two hours after the room is created.

Even if you're wiped out, it's okay

If your party is defeated there's no scary effect or game-over screen — it simply says you "returned to camp," and the gear and experience you gathered that run come home with you. The more you play, the stronger your character becomes, so it's an easy game to keep coming back to.

Notes for parents

The game is currently in beta. To tune game balance and add larger features, save data (level, gear, collection log, titles, and so on) may be reset periodically, which means starting over. We plan to switch to preserving progress in the full release. The game is free with no sign-up and no install. Progress is stored only in your device's browser and is never sent to a server, no personal information is entered, and enemies simply "pop" into stars and coins — there is no blood or scary content (the dark dungeon is just lighting to make exploring exciting).
